NEW YORK— At a breakfast hosted by the Polish Slavic Federal Credit Union, Congresswoman Maloney participated in a lively discussion about issues and concerns facing the Polish-American community in Greenpoint/Williamsburg, and shared stories of her recent trips to Poland.  In October, Congresswoman Maloney was asked by President Obama to lead the American delegation to Warsaw for the opening of the core exhibit at the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews.  In February she was part of a delegation of members of Congress for the 69th Anniversary of the Liberation of Auschwitz.

Congresswoman Maloney discussed the importance of having Poland join the Visa Waiver Program, and legislative efforts to include Poland in the program.  Community members drew her attention to the need for improvements at a local park, expressed concerns about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and what that means for Eastern Europe, and emphasized the need for more senior housing in the community.
