House Republicans attempting to avoid a government shutdown while also hitting President Obama over his immigration executive action are trying to gain support for legislative measures to tackle both issues.
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Ted S. Yoho (R-FL-03) was joined today by 90 of his colleagues – in a bipartisan letter - asking that any funding which can be used to change the definition of waters under the jurisdiction of the Clean Water Act (CWA), be stopped.

The President plans to issue an Executive Order on immigration today. One needs to ask, what are the President’s motives for moving quickly on this before the new group of legislators—that America elected—take office? The President should honor the will of the people, wait until the new Congress and work with us just as the Constitution intended.

The legislation clarifies that the Executive Branch does not have the authority to exempt categories of persons unlawfully present in the U.S. from removal.

His bill is a long term solution that will apply to executive actions that attempt to circumvent immigration law. This is in contrast to any appropriations mechanism, which is only short term and will have an expiration date.
