Weber Votes to Fund Government While Delaying ObamaCare

Washington, D.C. – The House of Representatives voted on the Senate Continuing Resolution (H.J. Res. 59) with two House amendments that would delay ObamaCare for one year and repeal the medical device tax. The House also passed legislation that would ensure troops will be paid in the event of a government shutdown. Congressman Randy Weber (R-Friendswood) made the following statement:

“My colleagues across the aisle seem to forget that the President has already delayed a part of their most treasured health care law. Back in July, the Treasury Department announced, via a blog post, that the employer mandate will be delayed. Today, the House Republicans voted to even the playing field by delaying the entire unworkable law so that hard-working Americans and job creators are no longer burdened by the President’s hostile takeover of healthcare. It is time for the President and Senate Democrats listen to the American people and provide them with the relief they deserve. To use the President’s own words from yesterday…Mr. President: ‘knock it off and move on.’”
