House Republicans are focused on creating new jobs and putting people back to work. Our nation’s debt, along with federal policies that block access to our country’s natural resources, are making us more reliant on foreign countries and costing American jobs. Our country has abundant energy, water, timber and mineral resources – but instead of responsibly developing our own resources, we have allowed ourselves to become dependent on foreign countries with far lower environmental standards. As a result, the United States is becoming less economically competitive and American jobs are being sent overseas.

The House Committee on Natural Resources is promoting policies that will grow our economy and foster new job creation:

  • An all-of-the-above energy plan that includes renewable sources such as wind, solar, hydropower and nuclear along with American oil, natural gas and coal will create new job opportunities throughout the country and make us less dependent on foreign energy.
  • From job creation to recreation, our public lands play a crucial role in our economy and must remain open to public access.
  • An abundant water supply is crucial for communities to operate and remain economically competitive.
