Paulsen Supports Victims of Domestic Violence and Abuse

Votes in Favor of Violence Against Women Act

Washington, D.C. – Representative Erik Paulsen (MN-03) today voted in favor of the Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization of 2013. He made the following statement after the legislation passed the House of Representatives on a strong bipartisan vote of 286-138:

“The Violence Against Women Act is bipartisan legislation that is critical to protecting women from domestic violence, assault, and stalking,” said Rep. Paulsen. “I worked closely with victims’ advocates and housing organizations on provisions to provide victims with additional housing opportunities, which is critical for their safety. I look forward to continuing to work with these groups and law enforcement in Minnesota to provide services and support in halting domestic abuse."

Paulsen, a champion of small business and advocate of free enterprise, entrepreneurship, and innovation, also serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, the chief tax writing committee in the House, and is co-chair of the Congressional Medical Technology Caucus.
