Paulsen Statement on Submission of Long-Awaited Trade Agreements

Washington, D.C. – Representative Erik Paulsen (MN-03), member of the Ways & Means Committee, issued the following statement after President Obama submitted the trade agreements with Colombia, Panama, and South Korea to Congress:

“Nearly 60,000 Minnesotan jobs are dependent on global exports. Today’s submission of the pending trade agreements with Colombia, Panama, and South Korea is welcome news for Minnesota job creators and the U.S. economy which relies on those critical jobs,” said Rep. Paulsen. “These agreements will increase U.S. exports of goods and services and support the creation of over 250,000 new U.S. jobs. These bipartisan and bicameral agreements have been delayed for too long. It’s time for Washington to set aside partisanship and move forward with these trade agreements so we can give our job creators a hand and help get our economy back on track.”

Paulsen, a champion of small business and advocate of free enterprise, entrepreneurship, and innovation currently serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, and is co-chair of the Congressional Korea-U.S. Free Trade Working Group and co-chair of the House Medical Technology Caucus.
