Paulsen Statement on September Jobs Report

Washington, D.C. – Representative Erik Paulsen (MN-03), member of the House Ways & Means Committee, issued the following statement regarding the unemployment report released by the Labor Department this morning.  Rep. Paulsen continues to promote common sense, pro-growth policies to help job creators do what they do best: create jobs.

“This morning’s jobs report is welcome news for our fragile economy. But, our nation’s unemployment rate continues to stand at an unacceptably high 9.1%, and many Minnesotans are still looking for work,” said Rep. Paulsen. “This week, the House took an important step forward for job creation by moving forward with three long-pending, bipartisan free trade agreements with Colombia, Panama, and South Korea. These trade deals will help Minnesota stay competitive in the global market, and create much needed American jobs.  I will continue to support pro-growth solutions that remove barriers to innovation and get Americans back to work.”

Paulsen, a champion of small business and advocate of free enterprise, entrepreneurship, and innovation currently serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, and is co-chair of the Congressional Korea-U.S. Free Trade Working Group and co-chair of the House Medical Technology Caucus.
