Paulsen Statement on Bipartisan House Action to Open Government, Avoid Default

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN-03) issued the following statement after the House took bipartisan action to open the government and avoid a national default.

“I’m disappointed in the process and hoped for a better outcome, including the repeal of the medical device tax,” said Congressman Paulsen. “We need to reopen the government and avoid a national default. Washington needs to get serious about its spending problems and Congress must work together to earn back the trust of the American people.”

Paulsen, a champion of small business and advocate of free enterprise, entrepreneurship, and innovation, serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, the bicameral Joint Economic Committee, and is co-chair of the Congressional Medical Technology Caucus.
