Paulsen Receives "Champion of Healthcare Innovation" Award

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN-03) was honored today as a recipient of the “Champion of Healthcare Innovation” award presented by the Healthcare Leadership Council (HLC). The award recognizes Members of Congress for their ongoing support of patient-centered medical progress.

“Promoting innovation in healthcare is a passion and priority of mine,” said Paulsen. “A healthcare system that is on the cutting edge means increasingly better outcomes at lower costs to patients. Whether it’s repealing the stifling medical device tax or removing burdensome regulations, I will continue to pushfor policies that encourage technological advancements in the healthcare field.” 

 

 

The Healthcare Leadership Council is comprised of hospitals, health plans, pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, biotech firms, health product distributors, pharmacies,and academic health centers. HLC members advocate measures to increase the cost-effectiveness of American healthcare by emphasizing wellness and prevention, care coordination, and the use of evidence-based medicine, while utilizing consumer choice and competition.

Paulsen, a champion of small business and advocate of free enterprise, entrepreneurship, and innovation, serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, the bicameral Joint Economic Committee, and is co-chair of the Congressional Medical Technology Caucus.
