Paulsen Leads Bipartisan Letter Asking President to Withdrawal Norway Nominee

Washington, D.C.—Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN-03) led a bipartisan letter to President Obama calling on him to withdraw his unqualified nominee to be the next U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of Norway. Paulsen’s letter was co-signed by over 30 bipartisan members from 18 states, including the entire Minnesota House delegation.

“From insulting part of the coalition government, to believing Norway has a President, to having to be “saved” by a Senator on a simple question about trade relations, Mr. Tsunis’ testimony clearly demonstrates he is unqualified to be the U.S. Ambassador to Norway and may damage an important international bond if confirmed,” said Paulsen.

The letter can be read here.

Paulsen, a champion of small business and advocate of free enterprise, entrepreneurship, and innovation, serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, the bicameral Joint Economic Committee, and is co-chair of the Congressional Medical Technology Caucus.
