Paulsen: Economic Recovery Below Average

Watch Paulsen’s questioning during today’s Joint Economic Committee Hearing.

Washington, D.C.– Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN-03), questioned a witness during a Joint Economic Committee hearing entitled, “The Employment Situation: March 2014”. The bicameral, bipartisan committee heard from Dr. Erica L. Groshen, Commissioner, Bureau of Labor Statistics. During his questioning, Paulsen highlighted the weakness of the current economic recovery compared to the average of prior recoveries.

Remarks by Congressman Paulsen

“The economic policies America needs now are well known – stable prices, a gradual decline in federal spending as a percent of GDP, tax reform that encourages new business investment, balanced regulation, and trade liberalization.”

“It’s the best way to strengthen our economy, create good jobs, and boost the wages of hardworking Americans; and it’s time that the Administration work with Republicans and Democrats in Congress to move our country forward.”
