FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: July 19th, 2012

Paulsen Cosponsors Legislation to Grant Russia Permanent Normal Trade Relations

Benefits Minnesota Job Creators, Workers, Farmers, and Consumers

Washington, D.C. – Representative Erik Paulsen (MN-03), member of the Ways and Means Committee, released the following statement on the introduction of legislation granting permanent normal trade relations (PNTR) with Russia.

“By granting permanent normal trade relations with Russia we help American job creators, workers, and farmers compete and win in the world’s ninth largest economy. This strengthening of our trade relations will compel Russia to further open its market, safeguard intellectual property and investments, and strengthen the rule of law. Ultimately, this legislation means increased U.S. exports and more American jobs. I look forward to working bipartisanly to swiftly pass this legislation."

Paulsen, a champion of small business and advocate of free enterprise, entrepreneurship, and innovation, currently serves on the House Ways and Means Committee and is co-chair of the Congressional Medical Technology Caucus.
