The real crisis is making sure that young people have the opportunity to find jobs.”

Washington, D.C. – In the 25th installment of his weekly video series “Erik’s Correspondence Corner”, Representative Erik Paulsen (MN-03) directly answers questions from constituents across the district. Grant in Bloomington wrote in asking what Congress is doing to help college graduates facing rising interest rates on their student loans. Also, Devin in Rogers called in regarding how the new FDA reforms will have a positive impact for patients.

On Student Loan Rate Increases

“We not only need to make sure that college is affordable and tuition does not skyrocket for students, but I think the real crisis is making sure that young people have the opportunity to find jobs.”

On Efforts to Reform the FDA

“I was able to work as a part of a group of bipartisan legislators, passing legislation to streamline and modernize the FDA, so that the approval process and the pathway for getting new drugs and new medical devices to market is efficient, and predictable, and transparent.”

“We need to make sure that process is a very rigorous process, and that it’s relevant and that it’s safe.”
