10/30/14Less than a week before Election Day, U.S. Rep. Renee Ellmers visited Fayetteville on Wednesday to hear about the issues facing military spouses and their families. Ellmers sat down with more than a dozen military spouses at Fayetteville Technical Community College's All-American Veterans Center to hear about issues most important to them. Ellmers also said she wants constituents with problems navigating bureaucratic systems to know her staff is often able to help with such matters. "I want them to know that our door is always open and that we can be that voice for them when so many feel like they're being pushed in so many different directions," she said. Blackburn considers travel ban to stop Ebola
10/03/14Federal officials shouldn't rule out banning travel from certain Ebola-affected West African countries, Rep. Marsha Blackburn said Friday after visiting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. The Brentwood Republican said CDC officials are confident the current system of screening people before they leave West Africa is adequate to prevent an Ebola outbreak in other countries. Renee Ellmers, who worked as a registered nurse for over 20 years. "Obviously, there weren't enough questions asked when the gentleman found his way to the emergency room," the North Carolina Republican told Ed Berliner on "MidPoint" on Newsmax TV Thursday. Hartzler chairs conference
10/01/14U.S. Rep. Vicky Hartzler will host her fourth Missouri Business Conference at the University of Central Missouri from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday. The conference is designed to unite small business owners with students and other aspiring entrepreneurs. More than two dozen entrepreneurs are scheduled to take part in this year's event.
