Congressman Holding Assigned to Two Prominent House Committees

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman George Holding (NC-13) has been named to the House Committee on the Judiciary and the House Committee on Foreign Affairs for the 113th Congress.

Congressman Holding will sit on three subcommittees on House Judiciary: the Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property, and the Internet; the Subcommittee on Regulatory Reform, Commercial and Antitrust Law; and the Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security.

Congressman Holding will also sit on two subcommittees on House Foreign Affairs: the Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia, and Emerging Threats, and the Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific.

Today Congressman Holding released the following statement regarding his committee assignments:

“I take very seriously my responsibility to protect the Constitution and our nation’s security, and I am honored to serve on two committees dedicated to this notion.  My background as a former U.S. Attorney will guide my work in the Judiciary Committee—a committee which safeguards our Constitution, strengthens our borders by enforcing our immigration laws, and furthers innovation by protecting copyrights and patents from infringement.

The Foreign Affairs Committee engages in productive and meaningful debate with the diplomatic community and works with our allies to promote peace. I am committed to protecting our nation’s interests and ensuring our nation’s strength – which includes providing critical oversight of our foreign policy, diplomatic efforts, and foreign aid.”
