Edwards Statement Commemorating Father’s Day

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Donna F. Edwards (MD-4) released the following statement to commemorate Father’s Day, observed on Sunday, June 15th.

“On Father’s Day, we show special appreciation and pay tribute to fathers who do so much for our families. Every day, fathers in Maryland’s 4th Congressional District and across the country are playing critical roles in the development of our children, ensuring young people have role models, and serving in our communities.  We owe fathers everywhere a debt of gratitude daily for their support, dedication, and wisdom.

“On a personal note, I pause this Father’s Day to honor my father John, who served and sacrificed for our nation. Like many fathers throughout our community, my father instilled my core values and remains a source of inspiration. I miss him, but I carry him with me every day. For all who have their fathers with them -- honor them. And for all Dads, I wish each of you a glorious and joy-filled Happy Father's Day."
