Mark Doud
Director of Community Liaison

Mark is responsible for managing the community team for the 16 county district in west-central Indiana.  Previous to serving on Representative Rokita’s staff, Mark served on the Indiana staff of U.S. Senator Richard Lugar in various roles including constituent services, scheduling and county outreach.  Previous to Mark’s Senate service to Hoosiers he worked at a Chamber of Commerce in northern Indiana.  Mark is a graduate of Taylor University in Upland, Indiana and is married with two children.  He enjoys reading widely and learning as well as many physical activities including, biking, soccer, basketball, and more.  He is a native Hoosier and was born in South Bend, Indiana.

   

Joe McLain
District Director

Joe serves as the District Director and is based in the Danville District Office.  Joe is responsible for managing district operations, attending events and visiting with constituents on behalf of Representative Rokita throughout the district.  He joined Representative Rokita’s staff after serving as Indiana’s Help America Vote Act Administrator under then Secretary of State Rokita where he assisted counties and the state in implementing the Act.  Joe is married and the father of two sons and a daughter.

   

Teri Smith
Constituent Service Manager

A graduate of Marian University, Teri is a registered paralegal with 21 years experience.  Before joining Representative Rokita’s staff, she worked for a private Indianapolis law firm and later the Securities Division of the Indiana Secretary of State’s Office.

Penny Titus
Community Liaison

Prior to joining RepresentativeRokita’s staff, Penny worked in county government as an H.R. Assistant, and for the federal government.  When not in the office Penny enjoys traveling around the northern part of the 4th Congressional District meeting people and touring businesses to learn how to better serve them.  Penny and her husband Mike are lifelong residents of Carroll County, their daughter Lindsey, son-in-law Nate, and grandson Titus also reside in Carroll County.

Tom Borck
Legislative Director

Born in Lafayette, IN and raised in the Midwest, Tom manages Representative Rokita’s legislative agenda.  Specifically, he handles issues related to transportation, health care, and the federal budget.  Prior to joining Representative Rokita’s staff, Tom worked in the private sector as a health care consultant.  He graduated from Cedarville University with a degree in political science.

   

Mark Cruz
Legislative Assistant

Originally from Oregon, Mark manages Representative Rokita’s education, workforce, agriculture, science, energy and natural resource portfolios.  Prior to joining the office, Mark was a Legislative Fellow for Representative Tom Cole (OK).  Previous to that, he taught high school on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota.  Mark earned his bachelor’s degree from Pepperdine University and a master’s degree from Brown University. 

   

Alexis Hunter
Staff Assistant

Alexis currently serves as a Staff Assistant for Representative Rokita.  She received her bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University where she majored in Public Policy and minored in Corporate Strategy.  Before joining Representative Rokita’s staff, Alexis interned with the National Center for Policy Analysis and the Texas Public Policy Foundation.

   

Michael Mets
Legislative Correspondent

Michael graduated with a master’s in Public Policy from Stony Brook University. In the Spring of 2012, he was an intern for Representative Rokita. After finishing his internship, he worked for several political campaigns in New York and Connecticut. He returned to Washington to join Congressman Rokita’s staff and is responsible for the mail program as well as several press-related duties.

   

Jessica Williams
Executive Assistant

An Indiana native, Jessica is a graduate of Marian University, where she majored in Theology and Philosophy with a minor in Global Studies. She is a former intern of the Congressman’s office. Before starting in Congressman Rokita's office she worked in publishing.
