Cotton Applauds New Raytheon Contract
Washington, D.C. –Congressman Tom Cotton (R-Dardanelle) today issued the following statement applauding a $149 million contract award to Raytheon Company to manufacture key parts of the Tamir interceptor used in Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system:
“I am pleased with the decision to award Raytheon this important contract and the news that Aerojet will subsequently manufacture products in support of this project. Both Raytheon and Aerojet have long been models of hard-work and success, and this contract reaffirms the important work of so many Arkansans in and around Camden.
“Moreover, as we’ve seen recently, the Iron Dome is a vital defense system that protects innocent Israelis from incoming rockets, artillery, and mortars. Arkansans should take pride in knowing that Camden-manufactured products provide much-needed protection to one of our country’s most important allies. I look forward to seeing the progress of this contract on my next visit to Camden.”
