Advocating for Warsaw Veterans Day Commemoration

Dear Friends,

Facebook

Twitter
Eastern North Carolina has strong ties to our nation’s military with over 55,000 veterans from World War II through Operation Iraqi Freedom and the war in Afghanistan residing in the Seventh Congressional District. The town of Warsaw’s dedication to our veterans is particularly strong and the citizens there will celebrate with their 93rd consecutive Veteran’s Day Commemoration this year.

I have worked with the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce to encourage North Carolina’s military installations to participate in the town’s Veterans Day events. Warsaw’s Veterans Day is a time-honored tradition that recognizes all those that have served or are serving in the U.S. Military. Ensuring our nation’s military installations play a critical role in this grand commemoration is important, and I want to do all I can to support the community and citizens of Warsaw who work so hard to support our nation’s history and veterans.

As a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee, I have contacted Camp Lejeune, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, and Fort Bragg requesting their participation. If you know of ways that local military and veteran support organizations can help, you can contact Kara Spencer in my office at kara.spencer@mail.house.gov or 202-225-2731, to explore how they might contribute to this historic celebration.

Sincerely,

U.S. Congressman Mike McIntyre
Representing the 7th District of North Carolina
