Roskam: Administration's Latest Keystone Delay Shameful

Apr 18, 2014
Press Release

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Chief Deputy Whip Peter Roskam (R-IL) released the following statement in response to the Obama Administration announcing that it is delaying the final decision on approval of the Keystone XL pipeline again:

“The Obama Administration's playbook on Keystone is now all too transparent and predictable: hiding behind red tape and bureaucracy, they choose to announce yet another absurd delay via Friday news dump in advance of a holiday weekend, all because the president refuses to stand up to the extreme environmental wing of his party.

"President Obama has been saying a lot lately that he's finally ready to make jobs and the economy his main focus but amazingly refuses to sign off on Keystone, one of the largest and fastest ways to put thousands of Americans back to work. It's shameful."
