Internship Program

A congressional internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience, and observe first-hand how our government operates.  We welcome and encourage all that are interested in either full or part-time internships to submit their resumes. Interns gain practical work experience by undertaking a variety of administrative and legislative responsibilities in the office.

Interns conduct research, assist with constituent services, and mail among many other duties. Interns in all offices maintain responsibility for answering phones, data entry, general office systems operations and are an important part of the office.  Internships are available expressly for the purpose of furthering educational and professional objectives; therefore they are unpaid and provided to undergraduate students, graduate students, and recent graduates.

Application Process

U.S. Rep. Allyson Schwartz’s Pennsylvania and Washington offices are currently accepting applications for the fall 2014 program. Fall 2014 applications should be sent by no later than July 15, 2014. (Note: Summer 2014 internships are still available in Pennsylvania offices). Priority is given to applicants from Pennsylvania’s 13th Congressional District, although all interested persons are encouraged to apply. Selection is based on an applicant's skills and educational experience.
