Internships

Washington, DC

In my Washington, DC office, internships run throughout the spring semester for college students and recent college graduates, providing invaluable work experience.  Hours are flexible to accommodate students' course schedules, but generally run 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. when Congress is in session and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. when not in session. Internship start and end dates are negotiable.

In Washington, interns' responsibilities will vary, including but not limited to: answering phones, maintaining the front office, processing mail, attending hearings and briefings, and assisting staff with research and constituent services.  This is a great opportunity for applicants who are interested in the political process and are seeking practical, hands-on experience in a professional environment.

The prospective intern should be responsible, focused, self-motivated, and organized. North Carolina ties are preferred, but not essential.
