Call Center brings 700 Jobs to Brownsville

WASHINGTON, DC On Thursday morning, Congressman Filemon Vela (D-Brownsville) will attend a Ribbon Cutting for a customer support center that will open in Brownsville,Texas.  Through funding made possible by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), General Dynamics Information Technology has partnered with MAXIMUS to open this facility in Brownsville.

The Marketplace call center will answer questions and provide support to those who will be enrolling in new coverage programs through the Health Insurance Marketplace.  Establishing and operating this 24-hour, 7-day a week call center, will help ensure consumers have the information they need about the Marketplace to receive assistance in applying for and enrolling in new coverage options.  Between now and the start of open enrollment, the Marketplace call center will provide educational information and, beginning Oct. 1, 2013, will assist consumers with application completion and plan selection.

“General Dynamics and Maximus recognize the tremendous potential of Brownsville and Cameron County's workforce,” said Congressman Vela. “South Texans are hard working, educated, and often bilingual.  One of my top priorities is creating jobs through encouraging large employers like General Dynamics and MAXIMUS to invest in South Texas.”

Importantly, hundreds of jobs are still left to be filled.   Job seekers interested in learning more or completing an application, should visit: http://www.maximus.com/careers
