Rep. Yoho discusses immigration during Senate press conference

I joined Senator Ted Cruz, along with other House and Senate colleagues, in urging Sen Harry Reid to take up HR 5272.

This bill stops the expansion of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and it stops the government, unless authorized by law, from authorizing any alien to work in the U.S. if they do not have lawful status.

DACA has led to the humanitarian crisis currently overwhelming our southern border by giving false hope to parents and children. It has also encouraged immigrants to come to the U.S. unlawfully and it severely undermines those immigrants who are going through the process the correct and legal way. Why would anyone go through the proper legal channels when the illegal route is faster and easier?

This bill stops the amnesty that DACA provides and I urge Senator Reid to bring it to a vote.
