Help with Federal Agencies

Some of the issues we help with include immigration and citizenship, applying for visas, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), as well as Medicare and Social Security information.  While we cannot demand a government agency take a particular action, we can make sure that your problem receives quicker attention and that you are treated with respect.  We can make sure that your case is carefully reviewed by a supervisor, if necessary.

We can provide information about the Small Business Administration’s loan programs and seminars, and about opportunities to sell goods and services to the US government.  We can also help you obtain assistance from federal agencies which promote US exports.

We can assist with Medicare by helping seniors determine the health care services for which they are eligible for coverage, and assist with reimbursement difficulties.  We can provide information about various Social Security programs, including retirement and survivor benefits, disability and Supplemental Security Income (SSI).  We can also help resolve problems with the Social Security Administration.

Immigration and Visas

My office can assist constituents who are facing difficulties in obtaining U.S. citizenship, or who are experiencing other problems with immigration applications or visas.  Working with our liaisons in the federal government, we can help our constituents obtain information about the status of their immigration applications and determine whether there are any errors or outstanding issues causing delays.  We can provide information and advice regarding applications for immigrant and visitor visas pending at United States Consulates abroad.  My staff can also provide referrals to local community and legal organizations as well as information about other community resources available to address immigration problems.

Help for Valley Veterans

My staff regularly assists veterans who need help with VA disability benefits, veterans’ and survivors’ pensions, VA medical services, burial benefits, obtaining and correcting military records, and awarding overdue or lost military service medals. If you would like to receive our constituent service guide, which may be useful in explaining how we can help you or a veteran you care about in dealing with the VA and other federal agencies, please call my staff at (818) 501-9200.
