    U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich and U.S. Representative Ben Ray Luján present the Los Alamos business community with the 2014 Google eCity Award. They were joined by representatives from Google, as well as members of the Los Alamos Commerce & Development Corporation, the Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce, and local officials. City winners had businesses that exhibited a strong online presence in multiple areas including social media, website, blogs, and mobile accessibility.

    U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich visits the Columbine-Hondo Wilderness Study Area in Taos County to meet with local residents, elected officials, tribal leaders, regional stakeholders, sportsmen and U.S. Forest Service employees. During a hike into the area, they discussed legislation he and U.S. Senator Tom Udall introduced to conserve the Columbine-Hondo while creating new opportunities for economic development in the surrounding communities. The group also celebrated Senator Heinrich and Taos Mayor Dan Barrone's birthdays by presenting them with orange flower leis.

    U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich delivers a keynote address at the International Symposium for Personal and Commercial Spaceflight (ISPCS) in Las Cruces. His speech, entitled, A New Frontier: From the Land of Enchantment to Space, focused on the considerable expertise New Mexico offers the commercial space industry and federal policies needed to advance the industry further. Organized by the New Mexico Space Grant Consortium and its partners, ISPCS has set the industry standard for commercial space conferences over the past 10 years.

    U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) visits the Mountain View Market in Las Cruces to talk about the growing income inequality in America and the importance of raising the national minimum wage to $10.10 for all workers. Mountain View Market employs workers who earn above the federal minimum wage. The Senator was joined by local business owners, workers, and representatives from Comunidades en Acción y de Fé (CAFé). Senator Heinrich is a cosponsor of the Fair Minimum Wage Act, legislation that would raise the national minimum wage from $7.25 to $10.10 over three years and index future wage increases to inflation.

    U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) joins U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx in Albuquerque to tour the Paseo I-25 Interchange Reconstruction Project and participates in a roundtable discussion at the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce on the need to invest in infrastructure projects. Investments in public transit, roads, and alternative forms of transportation help increase economic development and tourism opportunities.

    U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) joins U.S. Department of Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx, U.S. Senator Tom Udall (D-N.M.), U.S. Representative Michelle Lujan Grisham, and Bernalillo County Commissioner Art De La Cruz at the Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge to announce $8 million in federal funding to improve access to the Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge in Albuquerque’s South Valley. Members of the Native American Urban Youth Corps and the local community also attended the event.
