“This report just reconfirms what veterans from across the country and in Missouri’s 2nd District have said all along: the VA has failed to provide timely services and care. The fact that St. Louis is ranked in the top five for longest wait times for new patients seeking specialist care is unacceptable, and violates the VA's pledge to excellence. That’s why the United States House of Representatives will vote on a bill that would allow any veteran forced to wait more than thirty days for an appointment, the option to receive private-sector care. I urge president Obama to call on Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to act on this bill as soon as it passes the House.”
