Energy and Environment

Keeping Energy Affordable While Protecting Our Environment

Affordable and reliable energy is an essential part of our economy and our quality of life.  We must move towards energy independence and cleaner sources of energy, while promoting a comprehensive plan that keeps energy affordable for the middle class.

I want to encourage the innovation and production of more fuel-efficient vehicles in order to reduce energy consumption and cause less harm to the environment.  Producing clean energy at home is a way to help clean up our environment, create more good-paying jobs for the middle class, and reduce our dependence on foreign oil.  I will also work to make sure oil companies do not collude and keep gas prices artificially high.  Gas should be affordable to help small businesses grow and our economy moving along.
