Among them, first responders who bravely ran into the burning Twin Towers, passengers of United 93 who took on their hijackers and saved countless lives on the ground, and heroes at the Pentagon and in New York who sought to save others--their coworkers, friends and people they had never met. Today we pause in a moment of silence for the victims of September 11th and for their families who still mourn their loss.
