My office accepts resumes from college students who want to gain experience for academic credit or professional development. Interested candidates must be professional, reliable, self-motivated, flexible and exercise good judgment. Excellent oral and written communication skills are also essential. Applicants may apply for an internship in both district offices and the Washington, D.C. office.

Interested applicants must complete an application and return it with a resume and writing sample. The deadlines for internship applications are:

For Spring Interns: December 1

For Summer Interns: April 1

For Fall Interns: August 1

Responsibilities include answering phones, leading tours of the Capitol to visiting constituents, attending meetings and hearings as needed, drafting letters, and researching legislative issues.

The internship program is open to all area college students, regardless of major.  All internships are unpaid. Academic credit may be available through your college or university.
