Dec 3, 2014 Issues: Taxes

Washington, D.C. - Earlier today, Congressman Ribble voted in favor of the Achieving a Better Life Experiece (ABLE) Act. This legislation creates tax-exempt savings accounts for individuals with disabilities to help save money to pay for disability-related expenses. The legislation passed the House by a vote of 404-17.

Below is a statement from Congressman Ribble on passage of this legislation:

"I'm pleased to see this legislation move through the House with such strong support. I was an early supporter and cosponsor of this legislation. I believe removing unnecessary barriers will allow individuals with disabilities to save money, pay for basic necessities, and lead a more independent lifestyle. I hope that the Senate swiftly takes up this bill so we can get this important legislation signed into law."
