Mar 07 2014

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Vice Chair of the U.S. Congress Joint Economic Committee (JEC), released the following statement on the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ February 2014 jobs report showing that 175,000 total nonfarm jobs were added and the unemployment rate edged up from 6.6% to 6.7%:

“Today’s employment numbers show that our economy continues to grow, but more work remains to get people back on the job and expand economic opportunity for American families. This report highlights the continuing need to focus our efforts on moving our economy forward by reforming our tax code, fixing our broken immigration system, extending unemployment insurance, and boosting science and math education so that more hardworking Americans can get ahead.”
