Many of my constituents have contacted me about a rumor that the United States Postal Service (USPS) will charge consumers for email. This rumor is false.

There is no legislation numbered "Bill 602P" in Congress. Congress assigns legislation that has been introduced with letters first, then numbers (such as H.R. 3161, H.J. Res 500, or S. 9).

Also, there is not, and never has been, a Member of Congress named Congressman Schnell.

The USPS has also issued a press release to deny these rumors.

More information on the e-mail tax hoax and other internet issues can be found at the Library of Congress.
