Internships

I am always looking for well-motivated and enthusiastic college-aged students to work as interns in either my Washington or Manhattan offices. Interning is an excellent way to learn about Congress, politics, and the legislative process.

Interns in my Washington office are asked to perform a wide range of activities including answering phones, attending legislative hearings and working on special projects for various staff members.

Interns in my Manhattan office often act as a liaison between constituents and government agencies, investigate legal aspects of local issues, and assist my press secretary in placing stories and making calls to arrange press conferences.

Interns should have good writing skills, the flexibility to work in a fast-paced office and a genuine interest in the political system.

Internships are unpaid and usually last between six and twelve weeks, depending on course schedules. Preference is given to residents of the 12th Congressional District. If you are interested in applying for an internship position:
