Military Academy Nominations

West Point U.S. Naval AcademyU.S. Airforce Academy

Each year, Congressman John Yarmuth nominates qualified applicants to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Military Academy (West Point), and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens between the ages of 17 and 22 on July 1 of their admission year. They also cannot be married, pregnant, or have any legal obligation to support children or other dependents. They must reside within the 3rd Congressional District of Kentucky.

Gaining admittance into any of the United States Service Academies takes hard work, dedication, and above all else, a strong desire to serve in the armed forces. To be eligible for appointment, you must distinguish yourself from your peers by showing leadership, physical ability, and mental fortitude.

Remember that the nomination is only one part of the application process and a nomination does not guarantee admittance. For more information and to apply to a specific academy, please click on the images above to visit an academy's website. Thank you for your desire to serve this great country.
