(Washington) – Congressman John B. Larson released the following statement today after President Barack Obama spoke on Syria at the Rose Garden:

"I commend the President for seeking congressional authorization for military action in Syria, answering widespread calls for the case to be made to Congress and the American people.

"Now, every Member will have an opportunity to debate the merits of the use of force in Syria and vote in the interests of national security and most importantly the will of the people. As we prepare to return to Congress to begin our debate I will be announcing a community forum to be held on Monday in Connecticut's First on this issue and look forward to hearing from my constituents."
