WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security, released the following statement on Ashton Carter’s nomination for secretary of defense. If confirmed, Carter would be the president’s fourth secretary of defense in six years.

Chairman McCaul: “The president is replacing cabinet members when he should be replacing his strategy to destroy ISIS. Until the administration lays out a coherent strategy backed by the necessary resources to eliminate the threat, we are leaving Americans vulnerable to these hardened terrorists who have sworn to hurt us.”
