On Friday October 10th the Committee on Homeland Security held a field hearing in Dallas, Texas entitled “Ebola in the Homeland: The Importance of Effective International, Federal, State, and Local Coordination.” The Committee heard from experts on the current Ebola threat to the homeland and what is being done to stop the spread of this disease. 10/10/14: Letter to Commissioner Kerlikowske requesting enhanced entry screening at Dallas Fort Worth and Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
10/15/14: Letter to President Obama urging the reestablishment of the position of Special Assistant to the President for Biodefense Policy.
10/15/14: Letter to Secretary Johnson and Secretary Kerry urging the temporary suspension of visas issued to individuals from Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea and recommending that any diagnosed patients be treated at one of the four U.S. biocontainment units.
