LARSON STATEMENT ON FCC DECISION

HARTFORD-U.S. Congressman John B. Larson (CT-01) today made the following statement regarding the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) decision to relax standards on media ownership rules.

"The decision by the FCC is a defeat for local control, small media markets and consumer interests throughout the nation as it allows large media corporations to control an even greater portion of America's public air waves. I look forward to working with my colleagues in Congress in addressing a number of these rule changes in the interests of both market diversity and competition. This unfortunate decision will prevent voices from being heard and does not serve the best interests of the public," said Larson.
