LARSON HAILS SIGNING OF "AMBER ALERT" LEGISLATION INTO LAW

WASHINGTON, D.C.- U.S. Congressman John B. Larson (CT-01) today issued the following statement after the President signed legislation into law that will implement the America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response (AMBER alert) system nationwide.

"I am thrilled that the President was able to sign this invaluable legislation into law so quickly," said Larson. "Implementing this system throughout the entire nation will enhance the ability of law enforcement to locate missing children, which can save lives and ensure that families see their children returned to them safely. This law addresses a pressing need facing the nation and I am pleased that we will soon see the system up and running."
