Accomplishments
The Congressional Victims' Rights Caucus is a proven and effective leader in advocating for crime victims. During its six year existence, the Caucus has taken the lead in protecting programs that provide critical support for victim services throughout the nation, including the Crime Victims Fund and Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). The Caucus was also instrumental in the enactment of the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety Act of 2006, the Cruise Vessel Safety and Security Act, and the Kate Puzey Peace Corps Volunteer Protection Act of 2011. We host numerous briefings on victim’s issues including domestic minor sex trafficking, elder abuse, domestic violence, and the impact of trauma on children as well as recognize National Crime Victims’ Rights Week with our annual awards ceremony and policy forum.
Please see our "Legislation" tab for more information on what VRC Members are doing to promote victims' rights and issue awareness.
