Washington, Dec. 7, 2011

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (MN-06) and the House Tea Party Caucus today hosted a staff briefing titled, “Founding Fathers’ Foreign Policy.” Over fifty House staffers gathered to hear the Heritage Foundation’s Marion Smith present the foreign policy philosophies of our nation’s founding fathers.

“I’m pleased so many staff members, representing a broad group of conservative Congressmen and women, joined us today for this important topic. Even though many players on the world stage have changed in two centuries, the foreign policy positions of our founding fathers provide a relevant and critical perspective when compared to modern policy positions.”

Marion Smith is a graduate fellow at the Heritage Foundation’s B. Kenneth Simon Center for Principles and Politics. Smith is also the founding president of the Common Sense Society and was a 2010 Washington Fellow at the National Review Institute in Washington, D.C.
