Personal Financial Disclosure
Every Member of the U.S. House of Representatives who was in office by May 15 of the current year is required to file a Financial Disclosure Statement covering these categories, for the previous calendar year:
- earned income (e.g., salaries and fees)
- donations made by others to charities in lieu of paying a Representative for a speech, appearance, or article
- “unearned” income
- assets purchased, sold, or exchanged
- liabilities
- gifts received
- travel reimbursements
- positions held by the Representative
- agreements with outside entities
Financial disclosure statements for Representatives are available on the Internet on or about June 15 of the year they are filed. I took office on January 3, 2013. My first financial disclosure statement will be filed with the Clerk of the House on May 15, 2013, and will be available on the Internet (through the Clerk’s Financial Disclosure Reports Database).
