BOEHNER VIDEO: NSA Reform Passes the House

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 3361, the USA FREEDOM Act, to provide our intelligence community with the authorities to keep America and Americans safe.  Shortly before the bill’s passage, Congressman John Boehner (R-West Chester) took to the House floor to thank the lawmakers who worked together to craft these reforms, and the members of the nation’s intelligence community:

“Mr. Speaker, my colleagues: today we’ll take up the NSA reform bill, and I rise today to thank Chairman Rogers, Chairman Goodlatte, Mr. Conyers, and all, in a bipartisan way, who have come together to address this very critical reform at a time when America is still under the threat of terrorism.

“There’s another group of people that I think it’s appropriate to thank today, and that’s the tens of thousands of federal employees who work for these agencies that go out there every single day to help make America secure, and Americans secure elsewhere around the world.  Job well done.”
