Tours and Tickets

All tickets are provided to my constituents on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the large number of visitors, please request them as early as possible in order to maximize your chances. For information on sightseeing and attractions, please visit my Washington, DC Tourism Information page.

U.S. Capitol

Our office can arrange guided tours of the Capitol for constituents through the new Capitol Visitor Center. The Capitol Visitor Center is open to visitors from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday except for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Inauguration Day. There are no tours provided on Sundays.

Tours generally last approximately 45-60 minutes and do not include the House or Senate Gallery. If you would like to visit the House and/or Senate Gallery, you are welcome to pick up Gallery Passes in our office, 1237 Longworth House Office Building, before your tour. We recommend that you submit all Capitol tour requests to our office at least two weeks in advance.

You may also book a guided Capitol tour at your own convenience directly at http://www.visitthecapitol.gov  up to one day prior to your desired tour date. If you have any questions about this process, or if we can be of any additional assistance to you, please contact us at (202) 225-9888.

White House

Self-guided tours are available from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays (excluding federal holidays or unless otherwise noted). Tour hours will be extended when possible based on the official White House schedule.

Tours are scheduled on a first come, first served basis. Requests can be submitted up to six months in advance and no less than 21 days in advance. We strongly encourage you to submit your request as early as possible, as a limited number of spaces are available and White House tours often fill up several months in advance. 

All White House tours are free of charge. (Please note that White House tours may be subject to last minute cancellation.)

Important Security Information

The Secret Service conducts a background check on all visitors to the White House. In order to facilitate this process, all constituents requesting a tour must submit a form including the following required security information, in addition to the tour request form:

  • Last Name
  • First Name
  • Middle Initial
  • Date of Birth (mm/dd/yyyy)
  • Social Security Number
  • U.S. Citizen (Y or N)
  • Country of Birth
  • Gender (M or F)
  • City of Residence
  • State of Residence
Click here to download the security information form. Fill out the form and submit it to az09tours@mail.house.gov, in addition to your tour request form. We will enter your information into the secure White House Tour System, and then delete the file.

Supreme Court

The Supreme Court Building is open to visitors Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It is closed Saturdays, Sundays and on federal holidays. Visitors are encouraged to take advantage of a variety of educational programs available during their visit including Courtroom Lectures, a visitors' film, and exhibitions that are changed periodically.

When the Court is not sitting, Courtroom Lectures are generally scheduled every-hour on the half-hour, beginning at 9:30 a.m. with a final lecture beginning at 3:30 p.m. On days that the Court is sitting, lectures begin after the Court adjourns. A rolling 30-day calendar is available showing the daily schedule of the lectures.

Library of Congress

The Library of Congress is not only the world’s largest library, but also the nation’s oldest federal cultural institution. Thomas Jefferson established the Library in 1800, at that time it was housed in the Capitol building. Our office can arrange a free one-hour guided tour of the historic Thomas Jefferson building. You can also arrange a public tour through the Library of Congress' website.

Congressional tours are available Monday - Friday: 8:30 am - 3:45 pm. Public Tours are available Monday - Saturday: 10:30 am - 3:30 pm (there is no 3:30 pm tour on Saturday). The guided tour highlights the symbolic art and architecture of the building, as well as the collections and services of the Library of Congress. 

Kennedy Center

A tour of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, situated on the banks of the Potomac River, is a highlight of any visit to Washington, D.C. As the nation's performing arts center and a living memorial to President John F. Kennedy, the Kennedy Center welcomes three million visitors annually. 

Tours of the Kennedy Center are offered daily, free of charge, and given by the Friends of the Kennedy Center volunteers. Tours begin every 10 minutes. We can also book VIP tours for our constituents. 

The tour highlights the historic events that led up to the establishment of a national cultural center, as well as an interactive exhibit on the life and presidency of John F. Kennedy.

Bureau of Engraving and Printing

As the U.S. Government's security printer, the BEP is responsible for the design, engraving and printing of all U.S. paper currency. A world leader in printing technology, the BEP also produces secured documents for other federal government agencies.

Tours are granted on a first-come, first-served basis and take place Monday through Friday at 8:15 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. April through August additional tour times are added every 15 minutes from 4:00 p.m. through 4:45 p.m. The BEP's visitor center is located at 14th and C Streets, Southwest (map). The ticket booth is located on Raoul Wallenberg Place (formerly 15th Street). Tickets must be picked up at the ticket booth location in order to begin your tour. Due to the high volume of requests, BEP tour requests must be submitted six months in advance.

You'll see millions of dollars being printed during a tour of the BEP. The tour features the various steps of currency production, beginning with large, blank sheets of paper, and ending with wallet-ready bills.

State Department

Tours of the State Department include the renowned Diplomatic Reception rooms. Tours are offered Monday through Friday at 9:30am, 10:30am, and 2:45pm and last about 45 minutes. Reservations are required and should be made at least four weeks in advance. Requests for reservations can be made through our office.  Please note that children under 12 are not allowed on this Fine Arts tour.
