Hagan to Hold Press Conference with Planned Parenthood on Women’s Access to Contraceptives
Senator Kay Hagan will hold a press conference with members and President & CEO of Planned Parenthood of Central North Carolina, Janet Colm, to discuss women's access to contraceptives in the wake of the Supreme Court's recent Hobby Lobby ruling. This week, a bill to restore full access to employer-covered contraception for women was blocked in the U.S. Senate. The Protect Women's Health from Corporate Interference Act, which Hagan introduced with 36 of her Senate colleagues last week, would also ensure employers cannot deny other medical procedures, like vaccines and blood transfusions, where a boss may have a religious objection.
