Raleigh, NC - Senator Kay Hagan will tour North Carolina A&T State University's Engineering Research Center (ERC) and discuss legislation she introduced to strengthen historically black colleges & universities (HBCUs) through a competitive grant program, the HBCU Innovation Fund. Hagan will be joined on the tour by North Carolina A&T Chancellor Harold Martin and will hold a press conference at the conclusion of the tour.
NC A&T's ERC currently offers programs and activities to a wide range of students to prepare a vibrant, diverse workforce to compete in the global economy. Additionally, the bioengineering program is the first of its kind at an HBCU. Currently, A&T is undergoing its largest-ever research initiative to find new technology for medical implants.
