Hagan to Hold Field Hearing on Bringing Today’s Classrooms into the Digital Age

Senator Kay Hagan, a member of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) and the chair of the Subcommittee on Children and Families, will hold a field hearing in Charlotte on Friday, Nov. 22 titled, "Educating for the 21st Century: Bringing Today's Classrooms into the Digital Age."

Earlier this year, Hagan introduced legislation to support teachers and principals in using technology in schools, and to help seed the creation and expansion of new technology that has the potential to transform teaching and learning. Language from the Senator's bill was incorporated into the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, more commonly known as No Child Left Behind. The Senate HELP committee passed this reauthorization bill, called the Strengthening America's Schools Act, in June.
