"As we celebrate 4th of July with our family and friends, it is important to remember and honor those who served and continue to serve around the world to protect the freedom and liberty that we enjoy today. North Carolina is the most military-friendly state in the nation and as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, I am committed to supporting our servicemembers, veterans and their families as they sacrifice to make our country safer. I wish all North Carolinians a happy and safe Independence Day."
