WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman John Boehner (R- West Chester) today released the following statement marking five years since the pensions of Delphi’s salaried retirees were terminated in the wake of the Obama Administration’s bailout of General Motors, while unionized workers received different treatment by the administration:
“This ‘anniversary’ calls for anything but a celebration. We’ve seen a sheer lack of transparency from the president and his administration on the delay of the Delphi Salaried Retirees’ final pensions and benefits. In fact, these retirees have waited five years now for the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation to complete the basic documentation necessary to begin the benefit determination process – it’s completely unacceptable. That’s why Ohio Delegation Republicans recently issued a formal inquiry into the PBGC’s delay, and I’m going to continue offering my support to Congressman Mike Turner and the rest of the Ohio Delegation as we continue to push this administration for answers.”
NOTE: On June 26, 2014, Boehner joined Senator Rob Portman (R-OH), Rep. Mike Turner (OH-10) and the Ohio Republican Delegation in a letter to the Office of Inspector General issuing a formal inquiry into the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation’s delay in providing final benefit determinations for Delphi Salaried Retirees.
This is one more example of ‘partison politics’ at the expense of American citizens. This kind of partisan treatment is rampant in the Obama Administration! It’s criminal and who would have imagined that Obama brought Chicago politics into the White House!!?? Malfeasance and misfeasance is rampant in this tyrantical White House and his colleagues in Congress!!!
